about

The Eye of Horus (Udjat or Wedjat) is a spooky Egyptian symbol that is in actually a protective ward. Sailors in the Middle East sometimes paint this familiar "eye" onto the prow of boats.

In setting the tone of the "Horus" portion of Talking Book, I wanted to speak about Horus the sun god, who was blinded in one eye (the sun being one eye and the moon the blind one). This album would be about moons... and women: the blinded eye of Horus and Jupiter and his moon Io (among other mythic archetypes).

Horus is also my nickname for my black Les Paul.

lyrics

Ain't nothing, nothing like a good thing.
Ain't nothing, nothing in life for free.
A million buck are far too many,
Oh, for me.

Refrain
Like they say, we'll go dancing all night long,
Till the day comes along.

Glowing like a moon bad eye,
And your evening gown,

REFRAIN

Locked down, like someone's baggage,
Picked up like someone elses keys
and I ain't shiny like a penny
If you'll do this one thing please

Refrain
