As Talking Book wound up, I wrote a couple of songs that I wanted to record in a slinky, greasy blues style. However, I wanted the chordal structure to be wider than blues, like folk music, and retaining that bluesy, "Yeah even though the ship is sinking, we do have a lot of booze and good friends to drink it with," vibe that only Blues holds dominion over. So, yeah--this is one of the first of *those* songs. Stop.

All me, baby. I owe a special thanks to Sara, my wife, for suggesting (strongly) that I redo my original drum tracks and... I think she said, "Just play drums on the damn thing." So I did. Thanks Sara.
